St. Lucia earns its reputation. The Pitons rise straight out of the sea, and rainforest covers half the island. Even the sunsets look photoshopped when you’re standing in them. So it’s consistently one of the most requested honeymoon islands I book, and for good reason.
One thing to know before the resorts: St. Lucia has two airports, and where you stay decides how your arrival day feels. Most international flights land at Hewanorra (UVF) in the south. From there, the Soufrière resorts are a scenic 45 minutes to an hour away. However, the northern resorts run closer to 90 minutes by road. That transfer surprises couples who didn’t plan for it. Depending on your resort and budget, I can arrange a private transfer, a small flight north, or a helicopter hop. Better yet, one resort on this list solves the problem by sitting minutes from your arrival gate.

Jade Mountain
Some resorts have a view. Jade Mountain built its entire architecture around one. Each of the 29 suites (they call them sanctuaries) is missing its fourth wall. As a result, the whole room opens to the Pitons and the Caribbean below. Most include a private infinity pool that seems to pour into the horizon. There are no TVs and no distractions, which is precisely the point on a honeymoon.
You’re not roughing it, though. Jade Mountain sits above its 600-acre sister resort, Anse Chastanet. So you get full access to its two beaches, restaurants, scuba program, and hiking trails. The dining at Jade Mountain itself is a highlight. Meanwhile, spa treatments can happen in the Kai en Ciel spa or right in your suite. Fair warning: this is a splurge, and it books far ahead for peak season. The good news? It sits near Soufrière, one of the shorter transfers from Hewanorra.
Serenity at Coconut Bay
Here’s the resort that makes the airport problem disappear. Serenity at Coconut Bay sits on the south coast, just minutes from Hewanorra. In other words, you can land, clear customs, and be in your plunge pool before other couples are halfway up the coast. After a wedding weekend and a travel day, do not underestimate that.
Serenity itself is an adults-only, all-suite hideaway with just 36 plunge-pool suites. Each comes with indoor-outdoor living space, a mahogany four-poster king, and a personalized top-shelf bar. Additionally, a 24-hour butler greets you with rum in a fresh coconut and handles everything after that. Dining at the Greathouse restaurant is for Serenity guests only. Then, when you want more variety, you have full access to the restaurants and activities at the larger Coconut Bay resort next door. Small, buttled, and blissfully convenient. For a lot of my couples, this is the sleeper pick that wins.
Ladera
Before Jade Mountain made the open wall famous, Ladera was quietly perfecting it. This hand-built, adults-oriented resort (guests 16 and over) perches a thousand feet up on a volcanic ridge between the Pitons. In fact, it’s the only resort located within St. Lucia’s UNESCO World Heritage site. Every suite and villa opens completely to the view: no third wall, just you, the Pitons, and the sea between them. Private plunge pools come standard. Meanwhile, the whole property has a warm, woodcrafted character that feels grown rather than built.
Dinner is a reason to stay in. Dasheene, Ladera’s award-winning restaurant, does farm-to-table St. Lucian cooking with the same view your suite has. Sunset from that dining room is the photo you’ll keep. Best of all, Ladera runs a gentler price than its famous neighbor while delivering the same jaw-dropping geography. That’s exactly the kind of trade-off I love walking couples through.
Secrets St. Lucia
The newest name on this list. Secrets St. Lucia opened in June 2025 as the island’s first Secrets property. It brings 355 rooms on 30 garden acres along Choc Bay, adults-only, with the brand’s Unlimited-Luxury approach. That means nine restaurants with no reservations required and top-shelf drinks everywhere. There are swim-out suites in every building, too. And when leaving the room feels like too much commitment, 24-hour room service has you covered.
For honeymooners, I point couples toward the Preferred Club. It adds a private infinity pool overlooking the sea, upgraded suites, and lounge access. Two practical perks are worth knowing. First, the resort sits about ten minutes from the smaller northern airport, one of the easiest arrivals on the island. Second, as a brand-new property, the rooms are as fresh as anything in St. Lucia. New resorts also tend to price aggressively in their first years. That’s a quiet win for your budget.
Sandals Grande St. Lucian
Sandals Grande St. Lucian occupies its own peninsula in Rodney Bay. The water wrapping it is some of the calmest and most swimmable in St. Lucia. That geography is the resort’s superpower: gentle lagoon on one side, open Caribbean on the other, sunsets from nearly everywhere.
For honeymooners, the headline is the over-the-water bungalows. They come with glass floor panels, butler service, and direct ladder access into the sea. If those are beyond the budget, the lagoon swim-up rooms put a pool right off your patio for a fraction of the price. Additionally, Sandals has three resorts on the island with full exchange privileges. So you can stay here and spend a day at Sandals Regency La Toc or Sandals Halcyon Beach, with dozens of restaurants across the three. In short, it’s the classic honeymoon machine at its best location on the island.
Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort
If the Pitons are the reason you chose St. Lucia, Sugar Beach puts you between them. Literally. The resort fills 100 rainforest acres in the Val des Pitons, on the site of an 18th-century sugar plantation. It fronts one of the only white-sand beaches on this stretch of coast, with Petit Piton rising beside the water. It’s the most cinematic beach setting on the island. Even the snorkeling off the beach is genuinely good.
The stay matches the setting. Bright white villas and bungalows, many with private plunge pools, plus butler service throughout. Meanwhile, the spa is built into treehouse gazebos in the rainforest. Sugar Beach isn’t all-inclusive, and it isn’t adults-only (families love it too). So I typically recommend it to couples who want independence, exceptional surroundings, and dining flexibility. For the wedding-photo backdrop and the pinch-me location, nothing else on the island touches it.
