Why Have a Wedding in Cancun?
Destination weddings are always a fun time. They are more intimate, and you get to know people better than you did previously. One of the great things about Cancun is that you can choose between all-inclusive packages or simple resort packages. This can give you the freedom to choose on any budget.
There are also plenty of activities in Cancun. Head to Tulum for a day and check out the ruins, or go there at night and hit the clubs. There are incredible restaurants and even cenotes (big natural pits filled with water) to jump into.
Seasons Matter
Although the weather is generally pretty warm in most parts of Mexico, there are also pros and cons to every weather season in Cancun. November-March Room rates are usually at their highest during this time of the year, but if you can book in advance you may be able to cut a deal. The main issue is the crowds during this time, especially close to the winter holidays. Overall, if you plan ahead, this is probably your best time to have a destination wedding in Cancun.
March-Early April
Usually, during these months, there is a lot of Spring Breakers. The weather is usually pretty good at this time. However, there are also many discounts in late spring, so this is something to consider as well.
Summer (May-August)
Keep the summer weddings a bit higher above the equator because Cancún summers can get extremely hot and humid. The temperatures are generally in the low 90s, but prices can also be significantly cheaper. Something else to note is that as of the last few years, there has been unfortunate sargassum seaweed in the ocean during this time. This stinky seaweed makes the ocean a lot less blue and a lot less enjoyable.
September-October
Probably the worst weather in Cancun is during this time period. It is considered hurricane season, and you will see the wettest time of the year. If you get lucky though, without rain the weather will be a perfect temperature, from the mid-70s to the high 80s.
